This project involved the supply and installation of outdoor lighting fittings along the Għadira Promenade, a coastal walkway located close to the seafront. The aim of the project was to improve nighttime visibility, enhance pedestrian safety, and elevate the overall aesthetic of the promenade, while ensuring that the lighting integrates naturally with the surrounding environment.

The works included the installation of pathway and step lighting along pedestrian routes, seating areas, and access points. The selected light fittings were chosen to provide warm, low-glare illumination, improving the visibility of walkways, stairs, and public spaces without creating excessive light pollution or visual discomfort. Particular attention was given to the positioning and spacing of the lighting fittings to ensure uniform lighting coverage and safe navigation for pedestrians during the evening hours. The lighting design enhances the usability of the promenade while maintaining a pleasant and welcoming atmosphere.

Due to the promenade’s coastal location, the lighting equipment was carefully selected for its durability and resistance to marine conditions, including humidity, salt exposure, and wind. The fixtures were securely installed to ensure long-term reliability while minimising maintenance requirements. The project also included the supply and installation of a DALI lighting control system, providing flexibility in managing and controlling all luminaires. The system incorporates an automatic dusk-to-dawn sensor, enabling the lighting to operate efficiently and adjust automatically according to natural light levels.

Overall, the completed lighting installation enhances the functionality, safety, and visual appeal of the Għadira Promenade during nighttime hours, creating a safer and more welcoming environment for visitors while complementing the natural beauty of the surrounding coastal area.
